On Friday, March 22, 2019 at approximately 4:19 a.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were hailed regarding two stab-wound victims that were dropped off in a vehicle at a local hospital in the 2300 block of Stockton Boulevard. The officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle and assisted in providing life-saving measures to the two male adult victims as they were taken into the hospital. Despite efforts by medical staff, both victims died from their injuries at the hospital.
During this time, officers received information of an additional stabbing victim in the area of 21st Street and 65th Avenue. The adult, male victim sought help from a resident in the area after being assaulted. Nearby officers responded and contacted the victim who also had life-threatening stab-wound injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical care and at this time is in serious condition.
Due to the severity of the incident, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene to take over the investigation. Detectives have determined an altercation between two groups that are known to each other, started in the area of 21st Street and 65th Avenue. During this altercation, the three males were stabbed, with the suspects fleeing the area.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information regarding this incident. At this time, a motive for the homicide has not been determined and it is unknown how many suspects were involved.
The identity of the victims will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
