Our police department is committed to keeping our community safe. When we received information about a recent social media post regarding a threat of a shooting at Arden Fair Mall, we immediately initiated a thorough investigation. Additionally, we worked closely with Arden Fair management and security to ensure the safety of everyone at the mall.

With the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the person responsible for this social media post has been identified. During the course of this investigation, the juvenile responsible for this social media post was interviewed. At this time, no arrests have been made.

After extensive follow-up, we have determined this was not a credible threat. Furthermore, at no time was there ever a threat at the mall and there is currently no threat to the mall related to this investigation. We take these reported threats very seriously and we are dedicated to ensuring these are handled swiftly and appropriately.
