On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at approximately 8:31 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of John Still Drive and Hemford Circle regarding a major vehicle collision.
When officers arrived, they learned that a vehicle collided into two pedestrians. Fire personnel responded and transported both pedestrians to a local area hospital for serious injuries. Officers determined the involved vehicle fled the scene after the collision.
Responding officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. During the preliminary investigation, officers determined the involved vehicle was traveling eastbound on John Still Drive and collided into two pedestrians who were walking in the street, in a northbound direction. After the collision, the vehicle fled eastbound on John Still Drive. At this point, it is unknown if impaired driving was a factor.
Due to the severity of this collision, the Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) responded to the scene to take over the traffic investigation.
