On Saturday, April 20, at approximately 2:57 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 200 block of Danville Way due to multiple reports of a shooting in the area.  

Responding officers arrived and located a male adult with at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately took lifesaving measures until relieved by Sacramento Fire Department personnel.

The male adult victim was transported by the Sacramento Fire Department to a local area hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence.  Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
