On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, seven officers from the Sacramento Police Department (SPD) were recognized at the 2019 Northern California/Central Valley Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) awards ceremony for their roles in going above and beyond to save lives and help those impacted by drunk driving.
The following officers were awarded the MADD plaque and Driving Under the Influence (DUI) pin for making at least 25 DUI arrests in 2018:

Officer Scott Eckert,
Officer Katie Rappazzo,
Officer Gabe James and
Officer Trent Stigerts
Sacramento Police Department Officer Dan Morlan was awarded the MADD Outstanding Service Award which is presented to the officer who goes above and beyond the call of duty to reduce alcohol-related deaths and injuries. In 2018, Officer Dan Morlan was instrumental in providing DUI instruction and advice to SPD personnel and made 102 DUI arrests.
