On Friday, May 3, 2019, at approximately 1:37 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 3400 block of 10th Avenue regarding a shooting.
Responding officers arrived and located a male adult with at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately took lifesaving measures until relieved by Sacramento Fire Department personnel. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries on scene.
Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. Based on preliminary information related to this investigation, detectives believe this is an isolated incident.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
