On Sunday, May 19, 2019, at approximately 2:24 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 2600 block of Stonecreek Drive regarding a shooting in the area.
Officers arrived and located a male with at least one gunshot wound. Officers administered first aid until relieved by fire department personnel. Despite life saving measures, this male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Responding officers located an additional male with at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered first aid. Fire department personnel arrived and transported this male to a local area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. This victim is in stable condition.
Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined. Based on preliminary information, detectives believe both victims were targeted during this incident.
The identity of the male victim who died during this incident will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
