On Wednesday June 5th, 2019, the Sacramento Police Officer’s Association 1849 Foundation will be awarding 22 scholarships totaling $30,000 to local high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited US college, university, or vocational school. Funds for the scholarships are provided through fundraising efforts and the generous support of community donations.
The scholarships will be awarded in memory of fallen Sacramento Police Department Officers who died while serving our community, former Sacramento Police Department Members, and on behalf of the 1849 Foundation. Several of the scholarships being given in honor of fallen officers will be awarded by the officer’s surviving family members, along with representatives from the 1849 Foundation, Police Chief Daniel Hahn, and the Sacramento Police Foundation.
The event will take place between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM in the Sacramento Police Department Headquarters building (Crump-Allen Atrium).
Light appetizers and beverages will be provided. There will also be various displays that reflect the extraordinary men and women of the Sacramento Police Department past and present since 1849.
