On Saturday, June 15, 2019, at approximately 11:19 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 800 block of Calvados Avenue regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived and located a male adult with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers also located a separate male adult with a gunshot wound. Officers immediately took lifesaving measures until relieved by Sacramento Fire Department personnel.
Both victims were transported by the Sacramento Fire Department to a local area hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, one male adult succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The other male adult sustained a non-life-threatening injury.
Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
The identity of the victim who succumbed to his injuries will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
