On Saturday August 24, 2019, at approximately 1:35 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of N. 16th Street and McCormack Street regarding a hit and run collision with an injured pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located a pedestrian in the roadway on N. 16th Street at McCormack Street. SFD arrived on scene and transported the pedestrian to a local area hospital to treat his injuries. The pedestrian was admitted and remained in critical condition at the hospital.
Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) responded to the scene to take over the investigation. Detectives checked the area for additional evidence and witnesses. The investigation remains active.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian has succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
The suspect vehicle is a newer model black Dodge Charger. The vehicle has window tint on all windows with possible front-end damage. Please contact the Sacramento Police Department if you have seen a vehicle matching this description.

Witnesses may also submit an anonymous tip using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
