On August 18, 2019, in the evening hours, the Sacramento Police Department responded to two separate sexual assaults that occurred in close proximity.  These assaults occurred around Sutter’s Landing Regional Park, and through a preliminary investigation, were found to be linked.  See original press release for further details.

Through the community’s efforts, and the extensive follow-up by sexual assault detectives, the Sacramento Police Department has identified a suspect in these cases.

The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Manuel Sicario.  Sicario has been arrested on several charges including sexual battery, and assault with attempt to rape.  Sicario is currently in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
