On September 7th, 2019 at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 3100 block of Broadway regarding a shooting that had occurred.
Officers arrived on scene and located a male adult who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures on the victim. The Sacramento Fire Department arrived on scene and took over lifesaving measures. Fire personnel transported the victim to a local area hospital. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Officers conducted an initial canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide and Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
