On November 3rd, 2019, at approximately 7:21 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 500 block of Wisconsin Avenue regarding a shooting. When patrol officers arrived on scene they located two male victims who had sustained life-threatening-injuries from the incident. Officers immediately began rendering aid to the victims. One victim succumbed to his injuries on scene, and was pronounced deceased. The other victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Fire personnel, and medical personnel, continued administering life-saving-measures. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Homicide detectives, and crime scene investigators, responded to the scene to continue the investigation. The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation. However, based on preliminary information, investigators believe that this shooting is an isolated incident. Detectives worked throughout the night, and continue to work, to identify a motive and suspect in this case. The investigation is active.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information they may have regarding the incident.
The identities of the victims will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
