On November 8th, 2019, at approximately 10:54 p.m., patrol officers responded to the intersection of Truxel Road and San Juan Road regarding a collision that had occurred. Callers also advised that shots had been fired at the scene. Officers arrived at the intersection and found two vehicles that were involved in a collision. In one vehicle, officers located an occupant with multiple gunshot wounds. That victim was declared deceased on scene. Officers located another victim, at the intersection, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. That victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical, but stable condition.
Homicide and crime scene investigators were called to the scene to take over the investigation. Detectives worked tirelessly during this investigation, and have identified two suspects responsible for this homicide. This week, homicide detectives arrested 23-year-old Adrian Castillo and a 17-year-old male juvenile for this shooting. Castillo has been booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail. The juvenile has been booked at Juvenile Hall.
Based on the investigation thus far, detectives believe this shooting is an isolated incident. We do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects.
