On December 15, 2019 at approximately 8:03 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 7700 block of La Mancha Way regarding reports of an assault that had occurred. When officers arrived on scene they located an adult male victim who had sustained injuries that were consistent with being struck with an object. The injuries were life-threatening, and officers began to render aid. Fire department personnel arrived on scene to take over life-saving-measures. Despite these efforts the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
Officers immediately began an investigation into the incident. The quick work of officers during their preliminary investigation led to the identification of a suspect. The suspect was located within the hotel and safely detained.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were called to the scene to take over the investigation. Detectives worked throughout the night and conducted a thorough canvass for witnesses and evidence. Based on the information received during their investigation, officers arrested the suspect for this homicide. The suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Nader Alomari. Alomari has been booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide charges.
The circumstances regarding this incident are still under investigation. Investigators do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects from this incident.
The identify of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
