2020 MLK 365 March For The Dream

On Monday, January 20, 2020, the Sacramento Police Department will be participating in the annual MLK 365 March For The Dream.  This march always proves to be a great event and showcases the awesome Sacramento community.  Based on past events we anticipate around 25,000 participants! This year the march will concentrate in the Land Park area.  Activities and vendors will be set up on the Sacramento City College Campus.

The first leg of the march will begin at the Oak Park Community Center (3425 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard) at 8:30 a.m.  The march is expected to arrive at Sacramento City College at approximately 9:20 a.m.  The march will then depart Sacramento City College at 9:30 a.m. and continue on the route indicated by the map.  The march will conclude back at the campus.

Residents in the area can expect closures along the route as the march progresses.  As the march moves on, these closures will be lifted, and traffic will be allowed to resume as normal.  Also, parking enforcement will be prohibiting parking on Broadway between South Land Park Drive and Freeport Boulevard, and on Freeport Boulevard between Broadway and 4th Avenue.

We urge anybody that may be impacted by these closures to plan ahead or use alternate routes.  We hope that the community will join us in celebrating the life of Dr Martin Luther King Jr and support a great event.  For more information on the event please visit the link below:
