Sacramento Police Department detectives are investigating a suspicious death that has been determined to be a homicide.  Homicide detectives are seeking the community’s assistance and are asking anybody with information regarding this incident to contact the police department.

On January 27, 2020 at approximately 2:10 a.m. patrol officers responded to the bike trail near Del Paso Boulevard and Northgate Boulevard after a body had been located by a passerby.  Officers arrived on scene and located a deceased female adult.  Detectives, crime scene investigators, and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office began a death investigation. Upon further examination of the body, detectives discovered that the female had been stabbed.

Detectives have conducted a thorough canvass of the area.  Crime scene investigators have processed the scene and the investigation is ongoing. 

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
