Sacramento Police Department detectives are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the afternoon hours of March 5, 2020. Detectives are working to identify a suspect in this case and are seeking the community’s assistance.
Patrol officers responded to the 7800 block of Center Parkway regarding a sexual assault that had occurred in the afternoon hours. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect brandished a screwdriver and then sexually assaulted the victim. Officers conducted a neighborhood canvass to locate witnesses and surveillance footage. Crime scene investigators also responded to process the scene and collect evidence.
The suspect is described as a male black adult, late teens to early 20’s with a tall, thin build.
This investigation is in the very early stages and information is limited. At this point in the investigation, we do not have evidence to indicate that this assault is related to any other incident.
