On April 7, 2020 at approximately 3:00 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 2500 block of Colfax Street for a reported shooting.  Officers arrived on scene and located one adult male who sustained a gunshot wound.  Fire personnel arrived on scene to render medical aid.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased.

This is an active investigation.  Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators will work to determine the circumstances surrounding this shooting.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
