Sacramento Police Department Detectives Make Arrest in Death Investigation.

Sacramento Police Department homicide detectives have concluded a death investigation that ended with the arrest of 32-year-old Cassandra Archuleta.  Archuleta was arrested on April 12, 2020 after detectives launched an investigation into the death of her juvenile son.

On April 11, 2020 at approximately 1:50 a.m. Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a local area hospital after staff reported that a male juvenile had been declared deceased.  Staff also added that the circumstances around the death appeared suspicious.

Officers responded and began an investigation into the circumstances that led to the juvenile’s death.  Based on the information received, Sacramento Police Department detectives were called to the scene to take over the investigation.  As detectives worked through the investigation, they determined that Archuleta was responsible for the death of her son and arrested her on homicide charges.  She has been booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail.  Detectives do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects in this case.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
