On May 28, 2020 at approximately 10:09 p.m. Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Coral Gables Court after receiving a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male who had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers began to render aid to the victim and paramedics arrived on scene shortly after. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene for evidence and conducting a thorough neighborhood canvass. This investigation is in the beginning stages and information is limited. Detectives do not have a suspect description to release at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
