On July 3, 2020 at approximately 11:25 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to Seavey Circle regarding a shooting that had just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and located two male adult victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began life-saving measures. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where one of the victims succumbed to his injuries. The other victim remains in critical condition.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the investigation. At this time detectives have limited information regarding this shooting, and the motive is unknown. They will be conducting a neighborhood canvass to help determine the circumstances of this incident.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
