The Sacramento Police Department recognizes the efforts of the Attorney General’s Office for assisting in the review of our policies. On January 29, 2019, the California Department of Justice released 66 recommendations for six different areas within the Sacramento Police Department’s policies. Out of those recommendations, 59 have been implemented, four are still in progress, and two have been partially implemented.
Today, the Attorney General’s Office has issued a Phase II report with additional recommendations. The Sacramento Police Department will review this report and will continue to revise polices in order help set the national standard for innovation and reform in policing.
The entire Phase II report, along with the department's progress on Phase I, is posted on the department’s transparency page. The Phase II report can also be found on the Office of the Attorney General's website.
“The Sacramento Police Department is always looking for ways to improve training and policies to ensure the safety of our community, officers, and professional staff. As these new recommendations are reviewed and implemented, our department is committed to transparency, just as we were with the Phase I recommendations,” said Chief Daniel Hahn.
