On August 24, 2020 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a parking lot in the 5600 block of Power Inn Road regarding a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision that had just occurred. Officers quickly arrived on scene and located an adult male in his 30’s who had sustained life threatening injuries from the collision. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and declared the male deceased. The involved driver was still on scene and detained by responding officers.
Due to the fatality, detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. They will be conducting a canvass for witnesses, surveillance footage and evidence throughout the night. The circumstances leading up to this collision are still under investigation. Detectives do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects from this incident.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
