On October 3, 2020 at approximately 3:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 8300 block of Jackson Road regarding a solo vehicle collision into a pole. Officers arrived to find the driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, unresponsive. Upon further investigation officers determined that the driver had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The driver was identified as a 17-year-old male. Officers immediately began life saving measures however, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The circumstances into how this incident unfolded are still under investigation. Homicide detectives are actively working to identify a motive and suspect in this case. Investigators will conduct a thorough neighborhood canvass to locate any witnesses and surveillance footage of the incident.
