On October 10, 2020 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2800 block of Rio Linda Boulevard for a report of an adult male who was down in the roadway. Officers arrived and found an unresponsive adult male who had sustained serious injuries. It appeared that the male had been struck by a vehicle. That vehicle had fled the scene prior to officers arriving on scene. The male was pronounced deceased on scene by fire personnel.
Detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over this investigation. They are conducting a thorough canvass of the area for witnesses and surveillance footage to identify a suspect in this incident. Detectives have limited information at this point and are urging anybody with information regarding this incident to contact the police department.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
