On October 19, 2020 at approximately 11:08 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Seavey Circle. Officers arrived to find one male adult victim who was shot. Officers began rendering medical aid and fire department personnel arrived shortly after. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
This investigation is in its early stages and information is limited. Currently homicide detectives do not have a suspect description to provide and the motive is unclear. They are working with crime scene investigators to process the scene for evidence. They will also be conducting a thorough canvass for any witnesses or surveillance footage that may provide information as to what led up to this shooting.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
