On November 20, 2020 at approximately 6:28 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to an apartment located on La Pera Court after they were notified of a downed subject who appeared injured.  Officers located the subject who appeared to be the victim of an assault and had sustained serious injuries.  The victim, an adult male, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation.  This investigation is in the very early stages and details are limited.  Detectives will be conducting a canvass of the area for anybody who may have information as to what occurred.  There is no suspect description to release at this point.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
