On 12/08/2020 at approximately 3:26 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Calvados Avenue for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Officers began rendering medical aid and fire department personnel arrived shortly after. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the scene. Detectives are conducting an extensive canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence. This investigation is in the early stages and information is limited. The circumstances and motive regarding the shooting are under investigation.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
