On January 28, 2021 at approximately 8:27 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Las Palmas Avenue for a report a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male who had sustained at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on scene shortly after and declared the victim deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. This investigation is in the early stages and information is limited. Detectives will be canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses. At this point in the investigation, the motive for this shooting is unclear and there is no suspect information to release at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victims after next of kin have been notified.
