On Monday, February 22, 2021 at approximately 3:23 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a business in the 1100 block of 43rd Avenue for a report of suspicious circumstances. A customer arrived at the business and found a male adult employee with a life-threatening injury. The Sacramento Fire Department responded and transported the employee to a local hospital where he was later declared deceased by medical staff.
Through a preliminary investigation, officers determined that the victim sustained at least one life-threatening injury during a possible robbery.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. This investigation is in the early stages and information is limited. Detectives will be conducting a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. There is no suspect information to release at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
