On April 1, 2021 at approximately 9:46 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2000 block of Del Paso Boulevard after a caller reported hearing gunshots in the area. When officers arrived, they located two adult male victims and one 17-year-old juvenile who had been shot. One of the adult males sustained at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived and declared him deceased at the scene. The two other males sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. Information is limited at this point; however, detectives do believe that this shooting is an isolated incident. The suspect(s) fled the area prior to the arrival of officers and there is no suspect information to provide at this time. Detectives will be conducting a detailed canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
