On May 28, 2021 at approximately 10:42 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2200 block of Cantalier St regarding a report of someone who had been stabbed at a residence. When officers arrived, they located one adult male victim who sustained at least one stab wound. Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim who was ultimately declared deceased at the scene by responding personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department. Officers were also able to detain a suspect who was still at the residence.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. At this time the motive remains unclear, however detectives do not believe that there are any suspects outstanding related to this incident. Detectives will be conducting a canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
