On June 9, 2021 at approximately 1:06 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 7400 block of 29th St regarding a report of someone who had been stabbed at a residence. When officers arrived, they located one adult male victim who sustained at least one stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later declared deceased. Responding officers were also able to detain a possible suspect who was still on scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. At this time the motive for this incident remains unclear, however detectives believe that the suspect and victim were known to each other. Investigators do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects. Detectives will be conducting a canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
