On September 22, 2021 at approximately 8:31 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting that occurred in a parking lot located in the 1000 block of Florin Road. Officers arrived and located one adult male who had sustained at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and began administering aid to the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased by medical staff. The suspect(s) had fled the scene prior to officers arriving in the area.
Homicide and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. This shooting is in the early stages of the investigation and details are limited. Detectives do not have suspect information to release at this time. Detectives will be conducting a detailed canvass of the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
