On September 25, 2021 just before 8:40 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 5900 block of Lemon Hill Ave regarding a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The involved vehicle fled the scene after the collision. When officers arrived, they located the pedestrian, an adult female, with serious injuries. The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene by responding personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department.
Due to the fatality, the Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. Detectives will be conducting a thorough canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence. This investigation is in its early stages and there is no suspect information to provide at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
