On October 10, 2021, at approximately 10:43 p.m. Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a subject who was down near Altos Avenue and Acacia Avenue who appeared to be injured. Officers arrived and found an unresponsive adult male who appeared to have been the victim of an assault. Officers began rendering aid and fire department personnel arrived shortly after. Despite their efforts the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the investigation. Detectives will be conducting a thorough canvass of the area for potential witnesses and evidence. This investigation is in the early stages and information is limited. There is no suspect information to provide and no other details to release at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
