On October 10, 2021 just before 5:45 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 7400 block of Elder Creek Rd regarding a report of a motorcyclist who was down in the roadway with serious injuries. When fire personnel and officers arrived, several people were attempting to render aid to the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, an adult male, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding fire personnel.
Due to the fatality, detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. Detectives conducted a thorough canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence.
This investigation is in its early stages and the exact cause of the collision remains under investigation. To assist with the investigation, detectives are asking witnesses or any person who may have information regarding this incident to contact them.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
