On November 9, 2021 just before 5:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Northgate Boulevard and Garden Highway regarding a report of a subject who was located deceased in the area. When officers arrived, they located a female adult who sustained serious injuries that appeared to be from an assault. Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed the victim was unhoused and living in the area.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene for evidence and conducted a thorough canvass for potential witnesses. The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation and there is no suspect information to provide at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
