On February 4, 2021 shortly before 10:40 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Stonecreek Drive regarding a report that a subject had been shot. At the scene officers located one victim, an adult male, who sustained serious injuries from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives responded to take over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene for evidence and conducted a thorough canvass for witnesses and information. This investigation is still in its early stages and information is limited. There is no suspect information to release at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
