Detectives Make Arrest Related to Four 2021 Robberies

On September 15 and September 16, 2021, the Sacramento Police Department received no less than four reports of robberies or attempted robberies involving a potentially armed suspect taking women’s purses from their possession in the Stockton Boulevard corridor.  Patrol officers and crime scene investigators responded and conducted a thorough investigation which included forensic processing.  During the investigations, officers learned that the suspect description provided in each robbery was similar.

The investigation was assigned to detectives in our East/Central Neighborhood Crimes Unit who immediately began conducting a diligent investigation.  During the investigation, detectives obtained evidence related to the robberies and identified the suspect as 19-year-old, Joseph Coln.

On March 4, 2022, detectives booked Joseph Coln at the Sacramento County Main Jail for two counts of California Penal Code section 211 (Robbery) and 664/211 (Attempted Robbery).

The Sacramento Police Department encourages any witnesses with information regarding this investigation to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
