On May 14, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 Block of North Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a male adult, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately began rendering medical aid. Despite these efforts, Sacramento Fire Department personnel later responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be conducting a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses.
This investigation is in its early stages and the circumstances remain under investigation.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
