On June 15, 2022 at approximately 10:23 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Lindley Drive & Ponderosa Lane regarding reports of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.  The victim was treated by Sacramento Fire Department personnel and transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.   

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be conducting a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses and will be processing the scene for evidence. This investigation remains in its early stages but at this time it is believed to be an isolated incident. There is no suspect information available.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased individuals after next of kin have been notified.
