Homicide Investigation and Arrest – 7700 Block of La Mancha Way

On August 27, 2022 shortly after 3 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 7700 block of La Mancha Way for a report of an assault between two subjects. When officers arrived, they located one of the involved subjects with serious injuries and began providing emergency medical aid. That subject, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased. Officers safely detained the other involved party at the scene.

Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. This investigation is in its early stages and the motive remains under investigation, however it is believed to be an isolated incident. There are not believed to be any suspects outstanding.

The detained subject, also an adult female, will be arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a homicide charge related to this incident.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased individual after next of kin have been notified.

The Sacramento Police Department encourages any witnesses with information regarding this investigation to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
