On August 29, 2022 around 8:05 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 3700 block of Broadway for a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The involved vehicle was reported to have fled after the collision. Upon arrival on scene, officers located the pedestrian, an adult female, with serious injuries. She was transported to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Due to the circumstances, traffic detectives responded to take over the investigation. Detectives canvassed the area for evidence and witnesses. The exact circumstances of the collision remain under investigation and there is no suspect information to provide at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
