The Sacramento Police Foundation was recently rewarded with a $9000 grant through the Union Pacific Railroad Foundation Community Ties Giving Program. The Community Ties Giving Program supports organizations working to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities. This is the third year that the Sacramento Police Foundation has received this grant from Union Pacific Railroad. This grant has been used to fund the Sacramento Police Department’s Pedals Program, which emphasizes bicycle safety. Through this funding, over 500 bicycles, helmets, and other pieces of bicycle safety equipment have been given out to our local community.
The Sacramento Police Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides resources to the Sacramento Police Department to enhance neighborhood safety, support youth programs, and ensure the well-being of Department members and their families. The Sacramento Police Department and Police Foundation are proud to work in partnership with the Union Pacific Foundation in an effort to improve the quality of life in the Sacramento community.
