Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision - 8000 Block of Fruitridge Road

On October 27, 2022, around 06:18 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 8000 block of Fruitridge Road for a report of a person with traumatic injuries. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a male adult, with major injuries and determined he was the victim of a hit-and-run collision. Sacramento Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Based on the circumstances, Major Collision Investigations Detectives and crime scene investigators are responding to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene and canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation and there is no suspect information to provide at this time. Detectives are asking anybody who may have information regarding this incident to contact the Sacramento Police Department. 

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
