On March 18, 2023, just after 7:02 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to Stockton Boulevard and 20th Avenue regarding a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. At the scene, officers located the bicyclist, a male adult, in the roadway with serious injuries. Sacramento Fire Department personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The involved vehicle fled the scene after the collision.
Due to the circumstances, detectives from the Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigations Unit responded to take over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. This investigation is still in its early stages and there is no suspect information to release at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
