On May 07, 2023, around 2:55 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2000 Block of 67th Avenue for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, responding officers located one female adult victim who sustained at least one gunshot wound. That victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.
Based on the circumstances, Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene and conducted a canvass of the area for witnesses and additional information.
Detectives arrested the suspect, 47-year-old, Brian Christiansen, after he was initially detained on-scene by responding officers. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for homicide charges on May 7, 2023.
This investigation remains active; however, detectives believe there are no outstanding suspects related to this incident.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
