On June 12, 2023, around 1:21 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 800 block of Lampasas Avenue for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers located two adult male victims who sustained at least one gunshot wound. Officers performed life-saving measures and the victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, both victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
